After work, we walked home from the ferry stop in some VERY intense heat. The Rock has gone from being tolerable to being ridiculously hot in a very short period of time and by the time we got to our door, we were pretty much gasping for a breath of air-conditioned air. Sad. So, we threw on our bathing suits and headed back out for a quick dip in the tiny bay behind our house. We've lived in our apartment for a year and a half and tonight was the first time that we've ever actually swam in our backyard, though we have swam nearby. It was awesome. The water is still cool and refreshing for another month or so and we were back to normal body temperature in no time. I think this might become a new evening ritual...I really can't think of a better way to end the day.
